Phoenix 2000

Tower.jpg (19736 bytes)Phoenix 2000:  The Phoenix, Arizona NMRA race is held during the weekend of October 21-22 for the 2000 race season at the Speedworld track.  We believe that the tower picture to the left pretty much summarizes the event this year: few cars and lots of rain.  Unfortunately, no video this time around - not really anything to tape.

Race News

Update 1:  It's been raining a lot in Phoenix this weekend.  Every one in Street Bandit except Ben Alameda has made a 1st round qualifying pass.  So far, SlowGT is qualified number 1 with a 10.40 @ 129.  The measured altitude at the track is 3,080 feet. [Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 1:45 AM MST ]

Update 2:  The rain wins.  It looks like the entire Phoenix race has been canned this year due to rain.  Hot Street got in basically first round of qualifying and that's all.  Better luck next year. [Monday, October 23, 2000 - 8:30 AM MST]

BuckW.jpg (20856 bytes)Buck's Rocket:  Buck Wooley is in from Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Sharp car!

Who.jpg (23200 bytes)How'd This Guy Get In:  When it rains, it pours.  A Chevy at an NMRA race.  There's nothing wrong with beating a Chevy at a Ford-Chevy race, but..........
