I have installed a C-4 transmission, a 157 tooth flex plate, a starter plate, small bell housing. The book says a standard starter from 79-92 should work. My starter doesn't meet the flex plate, won't turn the motor over. I purchased a new starter with the same problem. Any suggestions?
